5 month old Shih Tzu started growling at kids?

She is otherwise an awesome dog who loves me a lot. She however started growling at my daughter who is 2 while my daughter is asleep. My dog is suddenly scared to go for a walk?

This started about two weeks ago, I didn't think much of it because we had been getting a lot of rain lately, which scares her. But now that the weather is nice I take her to different parks, all of which she has friends at; but once she gets out of the car and walks for 5 to 10 feet, she then wants to head back with her tail between her legs. She is a small 4 year old Shih tzu by the way, is very playful and loves seeing her friends at the park. There has been nothing traumatic that I can think of that might have made her scared. She used to love walks, sometimes going on 3 a day but now she's terrified.

Advice for introducing a new puppy into a home with other pets?

In three weeks we will be bringing an 8 week old male golden morkie home. We already have a 6 year old female yorkie (she is spayed) and 4 adult cats (all are spayed). I need advice on the best way to approach introductions. Our 6 year old female yorkie is very used to being the only dog and she is also extremely spoiled. Crate training does wonders. I'm owned by two chihuahua's who are almost 1 yr and two more who are 9 weeks. I followed a strict schedule for taking my older two outside and they finally picked it up. I tried to use the potty pads and they were more trouble then they were worth.

I honestly really like it. However, what might be even better is, if the the drug dealer killed the lawyer already by the time Leon gets there and it was the drug dealer's plan to frame Leon. He convinces Leon he has to kill this guy, and Leon gets there, with the murder weapon and everything and the cops have been tipped off anonymously and catch him, practically in the act. What if it was a set up from the very beginning? Something to consider. The most important part, however, is that you understand the story, characters, scenarios, and such. The quality of you writing will depend on that, so write what you're most comfortable with, so you can really bring the reader in and create a story worth finishing.

Potty training a 5 year old dog?

I have a shih tzu about 5 years old and I love him alot. I take full responsibility for not properly training him in the past. I have been clicker training and have been training more often and he is great! I feel bad that I hadn't made an effort like this in the past but now that I am ready to fully train him I was hoping to get tips on how to break him of his bad habits. He tends to pee in the same spot behind a big leather chair on the carpet. He goes potty inside pretty often and I'm ready for him to start going outside. We have used a cleaner on the spot where he goes and I have had a little closer eye on him. So far so good...but tips on how I can get him to go outside would be helpful :) I like the idea of teaching him to ring a bell to warn me but I don't have one and I would rather something like barking maybe but something along those lines for a warning. If you have any tips or any ideas on ways he can tell me he has to go out I would appreciate it :)

Why won't my iTrip pick up FM frequencies anymore?

I'm about ready to hurl my $50 iTrip transmitter out of the window. Don't bother asking me which model I have, or which "generation" it is. All I know is that it's the model that allows you to charge your iPod while playing, and it has +/- buttons and a round SmartScan button next to the LED screen. Anyway, I have no idea which combination of buttons I inadvertently pressed, but I can no longer get FM stations with my itrip. What I get when I scroll through are some strange single-digit numbers. In other words, instead of 87.9 or 88.1, I have 4.5 or 0.1, which does me no good. I've tried switching from LX to DX and back, but it does me no good. What do I do to get it playing again? I miss my music!!

My brother has horribly sweaty hands and he ruins my guitar strings among other things?

I taught my little brother to play guitar and he has 3 of his own guitars. I have many guitars, but was once a professional. He likes to sneak and play my guitars when he visits my house, ruining the strings on his very first play. I have designated nice guitars for him to play, he also brings his own but he spent the night the other day, snuck into my studio (which I keep locked, but he knows where the keys are) and gunked up a telecaster and a les paul. I know how to clean the strings, but it's never quite the same. So I have to change them to achieve the same tone for my recordings. I love my brother and don't want to be a jerk. He's emotionally fragile but he's cost me hundreds of dollars in strings and he knows he's not supposed to do this. He's also costs us thousands of dollars because he's inadvertently done things like damage our pool, damaged the laminate, equipment, etc. He doesn't work so he can't pay for things. He's almost 23 so it's not a matter of age and still lives with our dad. What is the proper way to deal with this since he won't listen to reason? He is a very sweet guy and my 2 1/2 year old daughter loves him. My wife feels sorry for him, as I do, yet he's expensive and time consuming. Dew claws on my puppy?

I have a 10 week old shih tzu puppy. She has dew claws on the front and the back. They are very loose and kind of dangling(can be pulled out from her leg). Question: should I have them removed? I have 2 dogs, the oldest (1y 6m) is half shih tzu half lhasa apso and the youngest (4m) is a mini pinscher. My roommate had company a few weeks ago stay here while the roommate was out of town, this person was only here about 3 days, but a week later when I went to change the roommates bedding I noticed there were pubic lice "Crabs" on the sheets.. I am worried now because my dogs may have entered the roommates room and they like to lay on the bed.. Can they catch and possibly spread this pubic lice to each other or possibly to myself or one of the two roommates? The dogs are given flee and tick medicine monthly that i put on them myself, it is the liquid kind that you place at their neck and down their backs a little ways.. I can not find any information on the package where it states it helps prevent anything other than flees or ticks. Any information would be greatly appreciated..

i think a purebred lab would be good because i have one and my dog always barks when someone comes to my house. She barks wether its family or a complete stranger. my dog was high energy as a puppy but then simmered down. she always wants to be active and she is completely a nice dog. she has never tried to bite anyone and i dont think she would. My parents said that they know the difference between a baby and an adult so they know to be gentle around the baby and can more rufhouse with the adults. they also know the difference between emotions so that can comfort you. my dog doesnt like to cuddle but however my last dog loved to. lab is the way to go.

Dog's vomit every so often, maybe it ate something bad or was playing to hard, nothing to really be alarmed over. If he continues to do it though on a regular basis, he might have a blockage in his stomach or intestines and would need to be taken to the vet for x-rays.

Should I forgive her, or tell her to get out of my life?

Last night I had a friend over and we were drinking. She got extremely drunk and starting hitting on my boyfriend of 3 years. The dog probably had to compete with 12 other dogs for food and water. Most likely she was either pushed out of the way or another dog was resource guarding because there was so much competition. It will just take her some time to get comfortable..Just be patient..

How do I stop my dog from tearing up the carpet?

Blocking off the area won't work, because he will either somehow find a way to get to it again, or chew on another area of the carpet. DO NOT, and I repeat, DO NOT EVER HIT YOUR DOG! That will only make him fearful of you, if not aggressive. The old method of rubbing their nose in the mess is proven not to work either, because the dog does not understand what they did wrong. Sometimes they do, but they don't speak english. They can only tell one thing. When you're happy with them, and when you're not happy with them. They do not understand what they did wrong at all. To your dog, chewing on the carpet is probably almost like a daily routine. It's something he might do to relieve stress, or a number of other reasons. Try taking him to a dog park to play with other dogs, or take him on long walks to tire him out. If you catch him doing it again, lure him away with a treat, or simply stick a toy right between him and where he is chewing. At some point, he might get the message, or he may not. If you have to, you might have to keep him locked in a separate room whenever you're gone. If he keeps doing it, even with all the distractions you might try, in the end it might be simpler to contact a professional trainer. Either way it goes, good luck. Puppies are very hard work!

I DIDN'T DO ANYTHING & I'M NOT GOING TO BE PUNISHED (10 PTS)!!!!?

I asked this guy to prom & he said no & sent me all my flaws in a txt. We sit next to each other during art class & we share a drawer to put our supplies in. Yesterday, our brushes got mixed up in the drawer & I inadvertently took his brushes but I hadn't started painting w/ them yet. He noticed & fixed everything. Then he accused me of taking his palette which I did not. My colors started mixing together so I was given a brand new palette a few weeks ago. The day before yesterday they started to mix together again so I rinsed it out at the sink. It looked brand new. His looked practically brand new too though b/c he's neat w/ his paint. His wasn't in the drawer so he assumed I took his which I DID NOT! He was given a brand new palette immediately so it did not even affect him. So today at the beginning of class, I got in trouble for "stealing his palette & brushes" & talked to by the principle. I said I didn't do it but apparently I'm becoming an annoyance to him just from sitting there so I was moved to a desk completely isolated from the rest of the room in the far corner that was originally the seat of a girl who came in late to the class. I have nobody around me, no interaction w/ anyone. I was told to empty my stuff out of the old drawer. I liked my old seat; I'm friends w/ the girl next to me. I talk to her. I'm not going to "roll over and obey" so to speak. If he has a problem, he needs to be the 1 moved. So tom I am going to calmly go in & sit at my regular seat & tell the teacher that I'm not moving & that he needs to be the one moved. I am not going to get upset or break down. I am just going to stand my ground, be calm, cool, & collected. I did not do anything wrong. This guy is an *** who blames me for everything that goes wrong in his life. But I am not being moved anywhere else. That is where I will be sitting & I will not take no for an answer calmly & respectively. HE is the 1 who should be moved. Why is everyone so down on the Continental Kennel Club?

I purchased a BEAUTIFUL shih-tzu from a local breeder. He is healthy and very smart. I checked out where the pups where kept and the condition of her other pets. She owned 2 cats, and three dogs. All seemed to be clean, healthy and very well socialized. This was NOT a puppy mill. She was very responsible and even gave me her personal contact information if a problem did occur. Her pups were Continental Kennel Club registered, and I could not be happier with my little dog. He is a joy. He has aced all vet checks, and his temperment is wonderful. So... why does everyone focus on the AKC? I checked the BBB and the AKC had way more complaints than CKC.

But its not your falut that you thought you had something. there has been times where i thought i had something but it was nothing. you should always find out forsure if you got something before telling the guy cause if you do have something and they get tested and its neg for them they will know you were probly sleeping around. i would just give it time. he needs time to cool off and he might talk to you again or might not. If he wants to not forgive you then you just need to move on and forget him. he wasnt the one for you. Just make sure you give him space tho, dont talk to him, dont text, dont do anything that involves talking to him. if he has true feeling for you he will come back. What breed of dog do you think suits me?

Im 15 nearly 16 and I have cats. My parents would prefer a smaller breed of dog and i'd like one that isnt too hard or stubborn when it comes to training. I'd be at home for the next 8 weeks (cause i've finished exams and its summer) then i go into sixth form so a dog that could cope being alone for a couple of hours or would just sleep when left alone would be good. One that wouldnt need much grooming (maybe just a brush every now and then). I'd be able to take it on a walk twice a day and a breed that could be trusted off lead. Is the school Dean a bad Dean?

Also, I remember my own Dean telling me those girls who were picking on me had the right to be jealous since it was high school and I liked the guy one of them was dating, so I needed to get over. She also told me I would never be friends with the popular kids and the guy I liked wanted nothing to do with me. Plus, letting the bullies get off scot-free when she saw the comments they said about me on facebook and one of them initiated the status. However, I got suspended for four days. Then when I tried to apologize to one of the girls so I wouldn't deal with any arguments or humilation, the girl got mad at me when I said I forgave her for all the crap she put me through because I said "I forgive myself.". And her answer was, "Forgive me for what? I didn't do anything!" She wouldn't even apologize back. DON'T put her down! And I would suggest taking her off anti-anxiety pills, there is no evidence that all these drugs help. In fact evidence seems to be pointing that all this stuff that's supposed to help doesn't help at all in fact it looks like it's making things worse. I don't know how to calm her down but don't put her down.

ok if you can go with a house and be for warned most people do not allow pets in this day and age due to damages they can cause and if they do be prepared to pay a pet deposit but the reason why I say a house is better is cause they are better insulated than a trailer meaning come time for winter your bills such as lights and gas if you have it will go way up granted it does either way in the winter but some more than others as far as your prices go it depends on a few things like how much electric you use just to be safe make sure the two of you have 500 bucks put back for water lights gas cable and internet look around for packages for the internet and cable it is cheaper and also come with a home phone for food put up at least 200 to get you the basic things you will need maybe a little more but in the long it is cheaper and better than eating out there are web sites you can go to look up recipes and follow what they say start with something small and easy like get a slow cooker it is a life saver starting out with learning your way around the kitchen also with furniture you will need at least a couch 2 end tables and 2 lamps and a small kitchen table with chairs might run you a few hundred bucks but if you have beds and all the other stuff since it is just the two of you its really all you need so save up what you can make sure you have a plan and maybe you could ask your parents if you can't just rent the trailer from them until you turn 18 i think it is a great idea this way you are learning responsibility and how to live on your own

How do you know if someone is bad for you? What do you do?

I mean it sounds like SUCH a naive question, but sometimes the simplest-seeming questions are the hardest to answer! And sometimes it is really NOT that obvious that they ARE bad for you. I know this person who has been on my mind for so long that I don't know what to do anymore. I know there are so many perspectives to take, but don't know which one to take, or how to look at the situation. I just don't understand this person, any thought concerning him just seems unclear and superfluous and I do not know why that is. If I stop obsessing and thinking about him, I know that I can grow and move on, and then the answers will come to me when I am no longer affected by all the conflicting and confusing emotions. But I worry that if I stop thinking that I will lose some kind of control over the situation and that I'll have to live with knowing that i could have done something but didn't. But what to do? I guess I have to know what it is I want. I'm just tired and bored of this and want it to end. No one else has confused me as much as him and I do not know why. I really want to stop with this nonsense and go get a life, go live my life, with no silly and obstructive thoughts or feelings getting in the way. It has gone on for long enough. He has affected me deeply and I want that to go. he played mind-games and power-games with me and I think he confused me with mixed or fake signals. What to do now? I don't know what email program you use, but most of them have a setting for a preview screen that is usually on by default. Look in View/Layout or Tools/Options (or whatever you have similar) to turn it off. (This is in Outlook Express and Windows Mail.)

Pink Floyd are my very favorite band, and a Yes concert I inadvertently saw part of on TV the other day kind of reminded me of the Floyd, Dark Side of the Moon-Wish You Were Here era. The song they played was called "In the Presence Of" (I Googled the lyrics); I thought their playing and singing were just alright, but it was the rich, trippy Floydian nuances of their sound that grabbed me. I'm new to YA. I recently asked a question and inadvertently checked the wrong radio button for the category. Two people answered the question but many others did nothing more than chastise me about the category. While none of their responses rose to the level of YA abuse, I was offended. I'm a few days shy of having spent 68 years on this planet, have two college degrees, have lived in three different countries and traveled extensively in over 20 others. I believe that I have quite a lot to contribute to YA but I'm thinking that perhaps I'll just say to heck with it. Is there some unwritten protocol of which I am unaware that says one is not allowed to make mistakes? So someone looks in their favorite category and finds a question that does not belong there. Why don't they just ignore it? To me, these people are like the mean kids in elementary school. Ha ha, you wet your pants.

Because I don't really know what the term "evidence" means. I think evidence is whatever supports ideas that make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. I trust my own feelings because, in the end, that's all that is really important to me. If your feelings don't accord with mine, it's only because there's something wrong with you and you're going to hell for it. But, of course, that doesn't mean that God doesn't love you.

How do I trust God again?

I grew up in a good home, both of my parents are still together, i was an only child, and no major catastrophe's happened to me as a child. When i was in the eighth grade, my christian friends pushed me away, and my other friends began to experiment with drugs and alcohol. I didn't get involved. Until ninth grade, i got so lonely and depressed because i didn't fit in, i cut myself. Two girls from church found out and made me tell my mom. She didn't care, though. She just told me it was stupid, and never said anything else about it. This was around November. I held strong until February, when i got involved with a senior. He was too forceful and rough, and controlling. I'd rather not go into what happened, he never hurt me or anything though. I broke up with him, but that guilty feeling along with the fear of him never went away. I started telling lies, to try to get people to care and understand that I was hurting. Nobody did though. So the lies got worse. I got involved in drinking, and drifted farther away from God. By summer, they were outrageous. It was unbelievable, and i felt so guilty about it. I went to a christian summer camp, and vowed to change my ways. I did, for a couple of months. Tenth grade came, i started failing all my classes. I quit caring. I cut again. I drank again. The lies started again. I knew it was wrong. I just couldn't resist. Nobody from church could help me, i was embarrassed to admit what i was going through. I was scared that I'd get put into a mental asylum for cutting. I couldn't bare to look into my parents eyes, because they saw their wonderful daughter of whom they were so proud. But all I saw was a failure. January, i finally told the truth about all the lies. I figured, if I'm honest, maybe, just maybe, I'll be forgiven. It'll be okay. So I told the truth to the friends who I had lied to. I cried all night that night, I cut again. I didn't see any way out of this mess. I felt like i was at rock bottom. I was considering suicide that night, because I felt so alone. I turned away from God. My friend knew i was falling apart, and despite the fact that I had lied to him for months, made me promise not to kill myself. I did. After that night, I didn't hear from him for about six months. Then, this summer, i stole tequila from my cousin. I had it hidden in my room, and didn't drink it. I went back to this same summer camp, and actually got it. I made amends with my friend who i had lied to. I got closer with my friends from church, and made some real christian connections. I've been sued by Capital One for breach of contract and nonpayment of my credit card. I tried and tried and tried to pay my bill to Capital One (including working something out with Capital One on several occasions, but they refused to help me), but I just couldn't. Now, before you go and judge me by saying "you should've lived within your means blah blah blah," I stopped using this card two years ago several months before I lost my job and have only been using what I get from work to pay for things. The majority of what Crapital One is asking for in the lawsuit is outrageous interest and fees. And I tried making payments, but the further I got behind on my bills the harder it got for me to pay off the balance that just kept increasing (even though I wasn't using my card). If I were to explain to the judge my story and why I couldn't make payments and make the judge realize that Crapital One is a multi-billion dollar entity that can spare a few thousand dollars and I didn't even make $10,000 during the entire year of 2010, what is the likelihood that I could get this debt forgiven? I just want other people's feedback before I go and make a fool of myself in front of the judge. But seriously, please don't badger me about how I should've payed my bills. Why can't connect to the internet? i have a compaq presario v6000.?

i can't connect to the internet throught the cable in my appartment. i worked fine until last week. while i was using my laptop in my appartment i lost connection and realized i left the wireless switch on and that i was picking up someone elses wireless signal. i turned off the wireless switch and went to my network and sharing center but i couldn't connect through the internet cable, the only thing there was the name of the wireless network that i had inadvertently been connected to. i saw an option that said disconnect in the network and sharing center and click on it. the computer still couldn't find a connection throught the cable. i looked at the drivers and the cable driver was unavailbile. i tried to update it through troubleshooting, but it kept coming up with an error message saying that it couldn't update two items. i did this three time before i gave up. how do i update the drivers and get connectivity back? could there be a different problem that i'm not aware of?

Trouble with trimming my shih tzu's face?

Hello, we have a 10 week old shih tzu puppy. His face is in great need of trimming. I bought a $200 trimmer to shave him when he is older and a pair of scissors. I just wanted to trim his face with the scissors. I didnt even get out the shaver. He was TERRIBLE! He squirmed and screamed bloody murder. I know the neighbors thought I was killing him! My question is, is this normal behavior for this young of a puppy? Will he get better or should I just return the shaver and pay to have him groomed in the future? Also, what do I do about his face for now? I dont want to pay $25 for a facial trim. I grew up with shih tzus and my mom always shaved them. They never acted like this. I realize how my addiction to the internet is ruining both my character and my intellect. You may see women as a victim and you might be inadvertently looking for a women whom you can rescue. The problem with that is women dont really need or want rescuing when it comes to courtship. They want to be pursued. They want that HUNTER type male who appears strong enough to get what he needs, a good provider. But keep in mind that even while pursuing a woman, you must remain respectful or else, she's gone. Which brings up another point and actually a very common theme in men. You probably dont respect women entirely if you hold a view of them as a victim. Work on seeing them as equal counterparts. When the true respect starts to show then so will that social energy you need to land a hottie, imo. And dont worry about the blokes who can gab with any female at anytime. Some are really good at it and others just dont care about the girl and are lying to them. Trust Issues: Does running away make me a coward?

My boyfriend has trust issues with me-I have not giving him any reason what so ever to think that I would cheat or stray, He has even accused me of sleeping with guys while I am out spending time with my brother...He did ask a girl out while we were together and dumped me to see her. Things didn't work out for those two and I decided to forgive him and give him a second chance. But now he keeps having "trust issues" with me and starts picking fights...Is it me (being crazy) or is this really an unhealthy relationship-I have never dealt with this before and because I have falling in love with him (Im not sure if this is a good or bad thing) I dont really know what to do? Do I really stick around, pray for the best, and continue to deal with this? I don't feel like myself?

For some reason, now when I see something that would make me laugh, like some Monty Python or some Halo Reach Fails of the Week or Achievement Horse, part of me thinks it's funny but another part doesn't laugh. I asked this guy to prom & he said no & sent me all my flaws in a txt. We sit next to each other during art class & we share a drawer to put our supplies in. Yesterday, our brushes got mixed up in the drawer & I inadvertently took his brushes but I hadn't started painting w/ them yet. He noticed & fixed everything. Then he accused me of taking his palette which I did not. My colors started mixing together so I was given a brand new palette a few weeks ago. The day before yesterday they started to mix together again so I rinsed it out at the sink. It looked brand new. His looked practically brand new too though b/c he's neat w/ his paint. His wasn't in the drawer so he assumed I took his which I DID NOT! He was given a brand new palette immediately so it did not even affect him. So today at the beginning of class, I got in trouble for "stealing his palette & brushes" & talked to by the principle. I said I didn't do it but apparently I'm becoming an annoyance to him just from sitting there so I was moved to a desk completely isolated from the rest of the room in the far corner that was originally the seat of a girl who came in late to the class. I have nobody around me, no interaction w/ anyone. I was told to empty my stuff out of the old drawer. I liked my old seat; I'm friends w/ the girl next to me. I talk to her. I'm not going to "roll over and obey" so to speak. If he has a problem, he needs to be the 1 moved. So tom I am going to calmly go in & sit at my regular seat & tell the teacher that I'm not moving & that he needs to be the one moved. I am not going to get upset or break down. That's just the way things are. That fee to adopt is to keep the shelter running by the way. If you get a free puppy, you'll probably spend more on the torn up furniture/extra vaccinations than you would have if you had bought a puppy. Free puppies have either not been taken care of or are a problem that the owner wants to get rid of. Do yourself a favor and pay for your dog. If you're not willing to pay the money to get one in the first place, you'll probably regret getting one.
