How did you house train your puppy?

Crate training does wonders. I'm owned by two chihuahua's who are almost 1 yr and two more who are 9 weeks. I followed a strict schedule for taking my older two outside and they finally picked it up. I tried to use the potty pads and they were more trouble then they were worth.
