You must be prepared for any breed of dog to have allergies whether it be contact dermatitis, seasonal allergies, or food allergies. Allergies are common in many dogs regardless of breed. One thing to watch for and eliminate is food allergies. Dogs are commonly allergic to corn and gluten. They can get terrible skin problems from ingesting these and your vet will likely not tell you about this. Most dogs should go on a hypoallergenic diet that does not have these ingredients.
